ISS Celebrates 10 Years

Ten years ago, the first module of the International Space Station (ISS) arrived in orbit, nearly 200 miles above Earth. Since that day, it has been a global effort from the NASA with the cooperation of Russian, European, Japanese and other space agencies in constructing the station.

Due to be completed in 2010, the station is expected to play a key role in research on the effects of long-term trips in space.
